Getting Help

3-tiered help model

The YES3 Exporter II has a 3-tiered help model, that should make it possible for you to find your way through the features accessible on the UI. The 3 tiers are as follows:

  1. Tooltips. Every interactive UI element (buttons, text boxes, dropdowns etc) has a context-aware tooltip (a blue balloon) that will pop up after you have hovered over the element for 1 second. In many cases a non-interactive UI element (e.g., a label) will also have an associated tooltip. You will be directed to hover over such elements for more detailed information.

  2. Popup help panels. Throughout the UI you will see two types of question mark icons. Clicking on one of these icons will open a popup panel with detailed information. These popups may be left open, moved and resized as you work. The two types of icons and what the kinds of help they provide are as follows:

    1. Open question mark - You'll find these at the top right of every YES3 Exporter II page. Clicking this icon will open a getting started help panel.

    2. Circled question mark - You'll find these throughout the UI, and clicking one of these will open a topic-specific help panel.

  3. Online documentation (this document). You may open the online documentation by clicking on the "book reader" icon that you will find at the top right of every page.

NOTE: The getting started help panel for each page is automatically displayed when the page is opened. You can prevent these automatic displays by clicking an opt out checkbox at the lower left of the getting started help panel.
